利用異相同位素交換製造放射性金屬汞之研究

PRODUCTION OF METALLIC RADIOACTIVE MERCURY BY HETEROGENEOUS ISOTOPE EXCHANGE REACTION

摘要


本研究利用汞離子與金屬汞之異相同位素交換反應製造放射性金屬汞-197。在pH 2,(Hg°)/(Hg^(2+))≥100之條件下交換反應之平衡可在10分鐘內完成,交換效率在99%以上。由交換反應所得之標誌放射性金屬汞-197,繼續與非放射性金屬汞混合,可製得各種不同比放射性強度的汞-197,適合工業上的使用。利用本研究建立的異相同位素交換方法製造放射性汞,可避免原子爐照射過程中水銀污染難題,提供放射填汞製造的新途徑。

A process has been developed to produce radioactive mercury by using the heterogeneous isotope exchange reaction between radioactive Hg^(2+) ions and metallic Hg. The equilibrium of exchange reaction between radioactive Hg^(2+) ions and Hg is achieved in less than 10 minutes and the efficiency is over 99% for the transfer the radioactive Hg^(2+) to the Hg phase under the optimum conditions of pH 2 and (Hg°)/(Hg^(2+)) ≥ 100. After exchange reaction, the radioactive mercury is further diluted to obtain mercury of various specific activies. The method developed has been practically used to the prodution of Kg-order of radioactive mercury.
