聚苯乙烯 丁二烯 苯乙烯三團聯共聚物摻合體之型態及基本性質研究

Study on the morphology and ultimate properties of Styrene Butadiene- Styrene tri-block Copolymer blends

摘要


具微相分離之熱可塑性橡膠,可因摻合(Blend)苯乙烯一丁二烯雜亂共聚物(SBR),聚苯乙烯(PS),或聚丁二烯(PB)而改變其形態構造(Morphology)。本研究即以聚苯乙烯一丁二烯一苯乙烯三團聯共聚物(SBS)(Kraton 1101)為主體分別摻入不同分子量,不同比例之SBR, PS或PB來研究這些SBS摻合體之形態構造以及對基本性質(Ultimate properties)及加工性質之影響。由穿透式電子顯微鏡(TEM)及動態粘彈性儀研究知摻入少量SBR時,SBR會摻入介面曾(Interphase)而使其增厚,由主曲綫(Master curve)及應力-應變曲綫知介面曾增厚對SBS摻合體在室溫或在小變形時之性質影響很小,但對熔融粘滯性降低、大變形強度減弱及加工性改進有顯著之影響。SBS中摻合較苯乙烯鏈節小的PS會摻入SBS中PS區域(Domain),若所摻合之PS較SBS中PS鏈節大者則自成一相。SBS雖因苯乙烯之摻合而增加苯乙烯體積分率但因摻合入之PS與SBS間無化學鍵存在,不能承受應力,故摻合PS不但不能增強反而使強度降低。低分子量PB之摻合係可塑劑(plasticizer)之效應。

The morphology and the relationship between morphology and ultimate properties of styrene-butediene-styrene (SBS, Kraton 1101) and their blends with several different molecular weight and composition were studied. Transmitance electron micrography (TEM) and dynamic viscoelastic measurements showed blending a small amount of styrene-butadiene random copolymer (S3R) the additive enter to interphase and cause the expansion of inter-phase. The results of master-curve and stress-strain curve showed expansion of interphase have little effect on the ultimate properties at room temperature and small deformation strength of SBS/SBR blends but expansion of interphase cause greatly reduce the strength of larger deformation of SBS/SBR blends and also greatly decrease the melt viscosity which make SBS/SBR blends more easily processing than pure SBS. Our studies suggest that a PS additive whose molecular weight(M) is less than that of the copolymer PS block(Ms) will enter PS domain while an additive wiht M>Ms mixes less well with PS domain (Probably forming separate domain of pure PS). Although the volume fraction of PS in SBS/PS blends increased but since there were no primary chemical bonds between them. So the strength of SBS/PS blends always weaker than pure SSS. blending of polybutadiene (PS) only showed plasticizer effect.
