摘要


鄭玉瑕教授的研究工作主要在針葉樹的化學成份分析,涵蓋台灣扁柏、紅繪、台灣肖楠、龍柏、巒大杉、台灣杉、台灣紅豆杉、柳杉、阿拉斯加香杉、台灣華山松、台灣二葉松、台灣五葉松、琉球松、台灣鐵杉、台灣油杉、台灣黃杉等松柏杉科的植物。她也研究台灣土肉桂、木薑子、大金櫻、小金櫻、高山薔薇、素馨花、秀英花、柑橘等香料植物的化學成份。研究的重點在萜類和木脂素,常用的方法有萃取、層析、光譜解析和化學反應等,總共約決定了一百七十個新化合物的結構,其中有不少是由全新骨架所組成的天然化合物。她曾探討萜化合物的氧化反應,如空氣氧化、照光氧化、微生物氧化和擔體氧化等,並製備了一個很安定的二萜臭氧化合物。她的研究在育種、植物分類和植物代謝物的生合成途徑,也有相當的貢獻。

The research work of Professor Yu-Sbia Cheng focuses on the chemical constituents of conifers, including Chamaecyparis obtuse formosana, Chamaecyparis formosensis, Chamaecyparis nootkatensis, Calocedrus formosana, Juniperus chinensis, Cunninghamia konishii, Taiwania cryptomeriotdes, Taxus mairei, Cryptomeria japonica, Pinus armandli, Pinus taiwanensis, Pinus morrisonicola, Pinus luchuensis. Tsuga chinensis. Keteleeria davidiana and Pseudotsuga wilsoniana. She also studied the flavor and fragrant constituents in the genera of Cinnamomum. Litsea, Rosa and Citrus. The constituents of terpenes and lignans have been extensively studied, and the methods of extraction, chromatography, spectroscopy and chemical reactions are generally utilized. About 170 novel compounds, even with new skeletons, have been found. The oxidations of terpenes by using air, photon, microorganism and supported oxidizing agents have been explored. A stable ditcrpenc ozonide has been prepared. The research of Professor Cheng is also contributed to plant selection, plant taxonomy and metabolite biogenesis.
