The research and development in natural product studies in Taiwan has been achieved great progress known to the world over the past 80 years. The relationship between natural product and chemistry is so important that could lead to further application in various possible fields. This review article provides brief introduction including the importance of natural products, historical background, research methodologies, and possible developments in the future. Current hot topics in natural products are also mentioned.
