High density graphite is widely used in the fields of steelmaking, defense and aerospace industries due to their high mechanical properties. Binders are crucial to the process in making c/c composites since the matrix and fillers need to combine entirely. A good binder should have high coking value or carbon yield, high βresin and good thermal stability. In this study, we applied thermal analysis (DSC/TGA) on our samples which show better thermal stability than COPNA resins’ one. Also our samples exhibit great binding ability via the empirical relationship. These promising characteristics make our binders competitive products in the market.
