Natural dyed fabrics take more and more proportions in fashion industry these years, due to lohas and ecofriendly issues. Taiwan used to use indigo dye fabric to make clothing, but nowadays just a few people know about indigo dye and fewer people buy indigo dyed products while indigo dye is popular in other countries. So my main focus is to make people love indigo dye products again! I started with studying different techniques, and did some research about what kinds of print patterns are loved by present consumers, and used these results to design my patterns. After this, interviewing subjects their opinions toward my pattern creations, and use this results to redesign and dye new creations until they can be preferred by most subjects. From the results, we can see the patterns which can let subjects think of nature are most popular. On the contrary, subjects do not like the patterns which do not have obvious gradient or repeating same small unites without variation.
