自閉症兒童的語言教學,除了必順配合其身心特質與獨特的學習風格,尚須參酌歷年語言教學取向與成效,期能對個別兒童提供適當且有效的教學方法,促進語言的發展與成功的類化。本文依據相關研究文獻,沿循發展順序彙整歸納出歷年的自閉症語言教學取向與方法,並發現各時期採用的語言教學方法隨著特殊教育思潮之風行而變化。不過,這些教學皆有一重要課題即是以有效提昇自閉症兒童較為複雜與抽象的語言能力以及突破類化問題,並因之發展出具特色的益教學策略。當然在實際應用上,這些教學策略雖仍有其限制;但是他們的教學特色及成效與限制皆值得做為未來教學與研究之重要考量要素。
To offer proper and effective language teaching strategies in order to promote autistic individuals language skills, we must also know the language teaching approaches and methods that autistic experts and teachers tried before. Their experimental results provided more suitable teaching techniques to meet autistic children s characteristics and learning styles. It is found that to increase more complex and abstract language skills and to improve generalization were always the main tasks when experts tried to develop and use these language strategies. And their specific teaching elements are valuable suggestions for our present language teaching in autistic children.
