Practica are very critical for students' acquiring practical knowledge and skills. It is also essential to promote students' employability and competiveness. In recent years, universities in Taiwan have been more and more increasingly emphasizing practica. The "Technical and Vocational Education Act" issued in 2015 specifies that every university has to conduct self-evaluation of the performance of practica every year. In this study, the researchers evaluated off-campus practica offered by the technical university where they had been serving for the purpose of determining the current conditions, achievements, and problems of the practica. Checklists, interviews, and questionnaire surveys were used to collect data, which were analyzed and evaluated using statistical and qualitative methods. In general, the performance of off-campus practica was good. However, the quality of every department's off-campus practica was different. The researchers also determined the aspects required improvement for the mechanisms and achievements of off-campus practica. The evaluation results and the methods of this study can provide a reference for those universities promoting off-campus practica.
