《華嚴經》之陀羅尼初探

摘要


本文研究華嚴典籍中的陀羅尼。陀羅尼的起源是印度的一種記憶的方法,後為佛教所採用,用於記憶經典,隨著佛教思想的發展,陀羅尼的內涵日趨豐富,成為大乘佛教教法的重要內容。在早期所譯的華嚴單品支分經中,有陀羅尼咒的內容,這與西域一帶陀羅尼密教及咒術流行有關,到全本《華嚴經》翻譯之時,陀羅尼咒已然不見,相關的經文也有變異,這反應了華嚴典籍傳譯過程中思想的變化。陀羅尼在《華嚴經》作為在闡發一乘教法的載體,全部都在闡發華嚴一佛乘的教法,可從思想教義與修持實兩個方向來解讀,此中,思想教義(義學)與修持實踐(禪觀)兩者之間,是互為表裡、互為因果的。華嚴四十二字門則是《華嚴經》所記載的一套闡發華嚴教法與思想的陀羅尼。

This paper mainly discusses dharani of the Avatamsaka Sutra . The original dharani was a kind of memorial method in India, and was used to remember classics of the Buddhism. With the development of Buddhist thought, the connotation of the dharani is increasingly rich and become an important content of Mahayana Buddhism. The early translations of Huayan sutra have had the content of dharani, which is connected with popular Tantrism and mantra in western regions. When the whole Huayan sutra was translated, dharani had disappeared and related scriptures also had been changed, which reflects the change of thought in the interpretation process of the Avatamsaka Sutra. Dharani in the Avatamsaka Sutra is as a carrier of the teaching of eka-yāna and elucidates One Buddha Vehicle of Huayan. This paper mainly analyzes it from thought and practice. Both are the cause and effect for each other. The forty-two words' door is the other door of dharani for explaining Huayan thought of Avatamsaka Sutra and later developed two practical ways, sing and visualization. The visualization has close relationship with Mahavairocana-sutra of Tantrism.
