摘要

生死學是東西方各民族文化中的重要思想與生命禮俗，二十世紀末葉以來，為肆應生命禮俗及生命教育之需，而成為臺灣生命哲學與生命科學相融合之科技整合學門。為釐清生死學的思想軟體與核心價值，本文從還原生死學相關的基本概念：靈性、靈魂、輪迴、瀕死、因果、彼岸（涅槃）等內涵，來揭示生死學的主體結構，俾使現代生死學能夠體現完整之全貌。為讀者提供近代以還，影響臺灣生死學的重要文獻，是本文分享予讀者的探索路徑，透過此一路徑的導讀，讀者或許能夠一窺臺灣生死學的發展概貌。生命的終極關懷是緣起於生命意義與終極目的之探源，經由善終（生死美學）的關照與護持生命的終站得以身心安頓，而人生的真諦卒能在「生者心安，亡者靈安」的願景中，獲致完善的歸宿。

Thanatology is an important thought and life etiquette in those cultures from the East and the West. Since the end of the 20th century, in Taiwan it has become an integrated academic discipline toward science and technology from Life Philosophy and Life Sciences. In order to clarify the ideological software and core values of Thanatology, this paper reveals the main structure in this from the basic concepts related to it, such as: spirituality, soul, reincarnation, sudden death, causality, and the other side (nirvana), so that the modern Thanatology can be realized and reflect a complete picture. Providing readers with essential contemporary documents that affect Taiwan's Thanatology, this article is going to share the exploration path for readers. Through this path of reading, those readers may have chances to see the development of Taiwan's Thanatology. The ultimate concern of life is the source searching from the meaning of life and its ultimate goal. Only if quality Hospice care (death aesthetics) can be provided and closely protected, the terminal of life can be settled physically and mentally, so that the true meaning of life can be in the vision of ＂the living-peace of mind, while the dead-peace of soul＂ to achieve a perfect destination.
