宋元時期佛儒交融思想探微

An Inquiry into the Interfusing Thoughts of Buddhism and Confucianism during the Sung and Yuan Dynasties

摘要


中國佛教隋唐之後,出現了一種交融匯合的趨勢。這種融匯不僅表現佛教內部各宗各派之間的相互滲透,而且表現為融攝儒、道二教的思想。到了宋元時期,終於出現了儒、釋、道三教思想的大交融,作為產物,則是溶三教於一爐的宋明理學的產生。這裡不準備全面論述宋元時期三教合一的總體情形,而擬通過智圓、契嵩、劉謐等幾位思想家的有關著述,探討此一時期從佛教方面倡佛儒交融的有關情況。

There was a tendency toward the interfusion for Chinese Buddhism after the Sui and Tang Dynasties. Not only mutual infiltration occured among Buddhist schools then, but the thoughts of Buddhism and Taoism became diffused and mixed as well. It was in the Sung and Yuan Dynasties that Confucianism, Buddhism, and Taoism first came into full interfusion: the coming of Neo-Confucianism of the Sung and Ming Dynasties was regarded as the fruit of such an interflow. The author of this article has no intention of discussing in an overall way how they were intermingled with one another, but is going to make an inquiry into something connected with the interfusion of Buddhism and Confucianism, through the writings by Chih Yuan, Chi Sung, and Liu Mi.
