A Study on the Impact of Trade Facilitation on the Development of Cross-Border E-commerce Operations

摘要

In recent years, with the rapid development of information technology and global economic integration, cross-border e-commerce has become an important way of China's foreign trade, and trade facilitation is being valued by more and more countries and regions in international trade at the same time. The level of trade facilitation will have a direct impact on the issues of trade behavior and transaction choice of a country's cross-border e-commerce. This paper will look into the issues by applying the dimensional analytical method in industry economic analysis in an attempt to analyze the impact of trade facilitation on the development of China's cross-border e-commerce. It is found in the paper that trade facilitation aims to break through the cross-border trade barriers, while cross-border e-commerce reduces the ＂iceberg cost＂ of international trade by breaking out of the constraints of time and space. Furthermore, the improvement in such factors as port efficiency, customs clearance efficiency, the business environment, and the level of information technology development in trade facilitation has a considerable positive effect on promoting the development of cross-border e-commerce operations.
