教育藏品的管理與運用-以國立自然科學博物館為例

Management and Application of Educational Collections: The Example of the National Museum of Natural Science

摘要


博物館所擁有的蒐藏就是最重要的學習資源,透過各種教育活動和實物學習課程,提供學習者觀察、觸摸和動手做的直接經驗,廣為學校師生及親子觀眾的喜愛,成為參觀博物館獨特的經驗與學習方式。然而,藏品的利用可以促進學習,但也增加受損的機率,博物館必須在藏品運用策略與管理方式上有所調整與因應。為突破使用上的限制,並且滿足展示及教育推廣之需求,國立自然科學博物館於2004年開始積極推行教育藏品充實計畫,並建立管理機制與作業流程。透過跨組室通力合作,協助科學教育組整合這些分散的資源,比照蒐藏研究部門設立蒐藏經理,負責教育藏品的保存管理。本文即以國立自然科學博物館為例,分享建置教育藏品管理機制的發展經過與實務經驗供博物館從業人員參考。

The most treasurable resources for learning in museum come from the abundant artifact and specimen collections deposited in the museum. Through various kinds of scientific and educational activities as well as object learning programs, educational collections offer direct experiences of observation and touching or hands-on exercises. The application of educational collections becomes a unique learning experience of museum and is popular with both teacher-student groups and parent-child audiences. We can take the advantage of using collections in learning, however, it causes more damage to the collections as well. It is important for the museum to make adjustment and response to collection usage and management. To break the restriction of collection usage to satisfy the demand for exhibition and education, the National Museum of Natural Science has carried out an expansion plan for educational collection since 2004. Its management mechanism and operation flow were drawn up under a cooperation of cross-department. The Science Education Department of the museum was therefore collecting scattered objects and setting up an educational collection section for their own, following the operation rules of the Collection and Research Department. The educational collection section also has a collection manager who is responsible for the management and conservation of educational collections. This article takes NMNS as an example to share with museum employees for the practical experiences of building the management mechanism of educational collections.
