文物編目指引（CCO）是否有助於改善博物館藏品編目品質？以國立臺灣美術館為例

蒐藏是博物館的主要功能，記錄藏品資訊即是藏品編目，如何提高藏品編目的品質以促進大眾近用與利用藏品資訊，一直是博物館的重要課題。《文物編目指引》(CCO)是文化資產領域重要的資料內容標準，並已被許多研究證實可成功應用於文物編目且改善文物編目的品質，但卻少見應用於臺灣現、當代藝術作品的編目研究。本研究以國立臺灣美術館為案例，應用CCO於該館藏品編目，並與該館藏品編目實務比較。研究發現CCO的編目元素與規則大致上適用於國立臺灣美術館藏品編目，且CCO詳細的編目規則與建議可強化藏品編目的一致性與豐富性。基於研究結果，本文建議博物館可適度參考CCO，修正或制定機構本身的編目規則，大型博物館或中央主管機關可主導編撰一套既能與國際標準交流又適合臺灣本地博物館運用的藏品編目規則。

Collecting is one of the primary functions of museums. Documentation and maintenance of key information of collections is referred to as cataloging. Improving the quality of cataloging and enhancing public access to collection information have been key issues for museums. Cataloging Cultural Objects: A Guide to Describing Cultural Works and Their Images (CCO) is an important data content standard in the cultural heritage community. Many recent empirical studies have shown that CCO is useful and effective in enhancing the quality of cataloging. Few attempts, however, have been made to apply CCO to modern and contemporary art works in Taiwan. The authors conducted a case study of the National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts, in which CCO was applied to the cataloging of its collections. Comparisons with original cataloging practices were implemented. The results of this study indicated that elements and cataloging rules of CCO are applicable to the museum. In addition, the museum's cataloging practices noticeably improved in terms of consistency and abundance. Based on these results, the authors suggest that museums use CCO as a reference when developing or supplementing cataloging rules, and that large museums or central authorities draw up a set of cataloging rules that are compatible with international standards and applicable to local museums.
