本文乃自博物館人類學工作的「蒐藏」角度出發,給予「族群藝術」一個新的定義範疇,並就涵化與變遷的事實,討論排灣族群藝術產品在蒐藏史各階段中與社會之關聯性,及產品的表現特質或關於正統性之價值爭議。
We begin by formulating a new definition of "ethnic art", from the point of view of collection- based anthropology. Taking into consideration the factors of acculturation and other changes, we then discuss the relationship between collectivly produced Paiwanic ethnic art and its social context during each stage of the history of the collection of the art. We also discuss certain characteristics of these art objects in view of the controversy about their authenticity.
