Promoting the Empirical Research of Chinese Religions

Since 2004, Sino-US-European Summer Institute for the Scientific Study of Religions is held by Renmin University of China (RUC) every year. The institute invites the best international scholars to teach Chinese young sociologists and has 191 graduates at the moment. At the same time, RUC established the annual Symposium of Social Scientific Study of Religion in Mainland China to promote empirical study of Chinese religions. The Symposium had been held for three times. Social Science of Religion is becoming a new hot subject in religious studies.
