In the progress of secularization, the rise and development of nationalism is always accompanied by the decline of Christianity. However, Russian nationalism, which is powerful and rooted in Russian modernization, has been supported by Russian Orthodox. And Russian ideal, stemmed from Russian Orthodox, has become the theoretic basis of Russian nationalism. As a unique case among the nationalisms of the contemporary world, origin and development of Russian nationalism owe to the Russian people. They always intend to reconstruct a great empire and Russian orthodox created the Moscow-Third Rome theory. Together Russian orthodox was given chances to participate more and more in the social and political course of Russia. And thus, Russians has an unique understanding of nationalist concepts such as homeland, nation, national language and others. The interaction between Russian nationalism and Russian Orthodox in Russian reconstruction was quite a spectacle.
