中醫針藥治療老年水腫及失智病例報告

A Case Report on the Treatment of Senile Edema and Dementia by Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture

摘要

台灣已步入高齡化社會，對於老年多發性及退化性疾病照護需求與負擔日益加重，中醫治療具有整體性及便利性的特性，可提供老年照護新的方向。本病例報告為一位86歲男性，年老體衰，患有高血壓及糖尿病多年，胃癌胃已切除，小中風兩次造成行動不利，因咳嗽就診，在治療咳嗽後足水腫，以中藥治療後水腫消除。爾後產生失智症狀，情志不清，大小便失禁，以中藥加頭皮針刺，幸能轉危為安，日漸康復。

Taiwan has entered an aging society, and the demand and burden of care for multiple and degenerative diseases in the elderly is increasing. The treatment of Chinese medicine has the characteristics of integrity and convenience, and can provide a new direction for aged care. This case report is an 86-year-old male, old and debilitated, suffering from high blood pressure and diabetes for many years, stomach has been removed due to gastric cancer, small stroke caused adverse action twice, edema after treatment of cough, elimination of edema after treatment with traditional Chinese medicine. Afterwards, he developed symptoms of dementia, unclear emotions, incontinence, with TCM and scalp acupuncture, fortunately can gradually recover.
