荀爽(128-190)易學歷來為人所關注的即其乾升坤降的學說,並將此視為其易學的核心觀念。順此,學者多將荀爽易學單純歸類為象數易學,並對其欲以一套不成熟的陽升陰降之象數系統解經,頗多穿鑿附會的情形多所批判。然而細究荀爽易學的內涵及其生命歷程,可以發現在乾升坤降之上,更有一套儒家經世道德思維在支撐其易學系統。身為積極入世的當代大儒,其注《易》已非僅僅為卜筮系統服務的象數易學,而是具有高度人文價值與政治意識,是一種即象數即義理的儒家道德義理系統。由此可知,其易學的核心價值應由當位居中與陽尊陰卑的道德內涵來探究,自能通透其易學的價值。也就是說,荀爽重視的是從實然到應然的道德意識轉化,我們應該更重視其得位、居中與承陽的儒家道德思維與內涵,並視為荀爽易學的第一義,而把陽升陰降視為第二義的象數方法,方可真正透顯荀爽易學的人文精神與價值。
Scholars usually think the core value in Yi studies of Xun Shuang (荀爽) is only "Yang rise and Ying down." (or "Qian rise and Kun down") it means, they think the Yi studies of Xun Shuang is only about phenomenon and number, moreover, they criticize Xun Shuang's Yi studies are immature with their interpretation. In this article I will point out the view of scholars which is not really true and try to give the Yi studies of Xun Shuang a new comment and set into the proper position. I will discuss the Yi studies of Xun Shuang is not just about phenomenon and number, but it contain with Confucius moral thinking systems. Xun Shuang is Confucian and morality administrator, but not just a scholar and fortune teller about the Book of Change (易經). It means the Yi studies of Xun Shuang is not just for fortune telling but also a theory for the political affairs. The Yi studies of Xun Shuang is full of the theory of Confucius moral and politic ethics, via the phenomenon and number speak, so his Yi studies have more humanistic spirit and less blind faith. In the conclusion, the Yi studies of Xun Shuang is not just about phenomenon and number but about Confucius thinking. The phenomenon and number are also the methods for Xun Shuang, and the Confucius thought is the core value in his Yi studies.
