摘要

加拿大多伦多大学郑裕彤东亚图书馆所藏日文《满洲写真大观》（满洲日日新闻社1921年大连出版），是一册比较稀见的记录日俄战争后日本在中国东北地区扩张其势力范围的图册。书中所涵盖的地方有辽宁大连、旅顺、鞍山、辽阳、抚顺、奉天（沈阳）、吉林长春等地。该书重点介绍了“满铁”在中国东北各地经营所涉及的基础设施和公共设施、“神社”、军事设施和战事记录，以及反映中国民俗、民情、历史的图像。利用各种形式的印刷品，宣扬日本的“政绩”和“战绩”是深受日本军国主义当局重视的蒙蔽本国民众、奴役占领国人民及争取列强同情的宣传策略。“满铁”等机构在其中扮演着非常重要的角色。从研究的角度来看，这类出版物能够为我们了解日本对中国东三省的军事侵略和处心积虑的殖民统治提供珍贵的第一手资料，值得相关学者深入研究。

Manchuria in Picture was published by Manchuria Nichinichi Shimbun in Dalian, China in 1921. This unique volume recorded Japan's expansion in the Northeast China after the Russo Japanese War (1904-1905). South Manchurian Railways Co. played an important role in Japan's expansion by controlling the railroads and built coal mines and harbor facilities in Dalian and Lushun. The historical photographs in the book highlighted infrastructures constructed by South Manchuria Railways Co., Japanese military and civilian facilities along the railroads. Chinese people, history, culture and customs, etc. are also the topics touched in this publication. Besides the obvious propaganda purpose indicated in this and other similar books published in the 1920s to 1940s, Scholars can use the first-hand accounts of the history in their research.
