應用懷舊虛擬實境提升獨居長者幸福感之前導研究

A Pilot Study on Using Reminiscence Virtual Reality to Improve The Well-being of Independent-living Elderly

摘要


隨著老年人口日漸增加,台灣的獨居長者亦不在少數,深入關懷他們並提供協助成為關切的重點之一,如何提升其心理健康也是一重要議題。因此,本研究目的為開發設計一款虛擬實境(VR)應用系統導入於懷舊治療,藉由在場景中呈現獨居長者過往經歷之懷舊影像,期望透過沉浸式的數位懷舊治療,使能更投入於情境中,在敘事引導中能夠正向影響其心理健康,並重新找回自我價值,始能提升獨居長者之幸福感。研究方法採單組前後測驗,研究對象為77歲之女性獨居長者。依實驗需求將問卷測量指標分為四個幸福感構面進行調查,實驗後透過訪談及問卷進行分析。研究結果顯示運用VR懷舊治療系統能有效使獨居長者改善其心理健康、重新肯定自我價值,期待本研究計畫可透過懷舊VR應用系統導入於獨居長者之日常,而有助於其幸福感之提升。

With the increasing number of elderly people, there are also many independent-living elderly in Taiwan. Caring for them and providing assistance have become one of the key points of concern. How to improve their mental health is also an important issue. Therefore, the purpose of this research is to develop and design a virtual reality system to be used in reminiscence therapy. By presenting the nostalgic images of the past experience of the independent-living elderly in the scene, it is hoped that through immersive digital reminiscence therapy, the target can be more involved in the process, and positively affect their mental health by the narrative, so as to regain their self-worth, and can improve the well-being of independent-living elderly. The research method adopts One-Group Pretest-Posttest, and the research target is a 77-year-old female independent-living elderly. According to the needs of the experiment, the questionnaire measurement indicators were divided into four well-being categories for investigation. After the experiment, analysis was conducted through interview and questionnaires. The research results show that the use of VR reminiscence therapy system can effectively improve the mental health of independent-living elderly and affirm their self-worth. It is expected that this research can improve the well-being of independent-living elderly through introducing the VR reminiscence therapy system into their daily life.
