台灣兒童文學學術發展的多方向

The Academic Development of Taiwan Children's Literature and Its Future

摘要


台灣兒童文學的發展迄今六十年,而學術研究的發軔歷經師院兩次改制,使「兒童文學研究」從感興式的漫談、語文教材的輔佐,躍變為教學方法與各種文類的探討。專題性研究泰半為邊緣性研究,如閱讀興趣、兒童讀物出版趨勢等;嘗試使用文本分析及心理學方法探討兒童文學作品,關切作家及文學類型研究,而且集中在童詩部分。研究方法以調查或綜述各家資料為主,缺乏原創性。九○年代中後期台灣兒童圖書的出版邁向多元化、國際化、本土化與視聽化。1996年,台東師院獲准成立兒童文學研究所,招收學生,撰寫論文,帶動新的熱潮。回顧八○年代兒童文學研究論文,集中在文學類型、教學應用,以及閱讀外在環境的分析研究,文本討論集中在中國古代文學類型研究與日本的童話作家與作品。九○年代前期研究重點落在「幼兒故事」與「童話」,後期仍以「教學應用」與「童話」為主。二十一世紀開始,論文篇數大增,研究重點多元化了,而且移向「少年小說」與「學科整合」的領域。從兒童文學研究本位來看,重點應該放在文本內外緣研究。如果能夠建構兒童文學學術研究的方法學,加強文本閱讀與分析,協助幼兒教育、語文教育、社會工作等相關學系取得兒童文學文本,相信可以發揮學科整合的優點。也使兒童文學研究邁向國際化、本土化、專題化的多方向,有個更開闊的視野。

It has been more than sixty years of development for children literature in Taiwan. Having undergone two major changes in the normal teachers' education system, the academic study of children literature has changed accordingly from random talks and educational assistance to pedagogical and genre studies. Some researchers started using textual analysis and psychological methods to look into the works of children literature. However, most of the energy had been spent on children poetry, and the research methodology had been stressed mainly on survey and data collection. In the 1980s, the articles on children literature had switched to the study of literary genres, teaching application and analysis of extrinsic background of the work. As for the textual analysis, it concentrated mostly on the study of ancient literary genre in China and on the studies of Japanese authors and works. In 1996, a Graduate Program was established in The Taitung Formal Teachers' College and graduate students have been recruited and thesis been written on the topics of children literature, and therefore a new wave of study has been launched. In the meantime, the publications of children literature in Taiwan have also been stepped onto another stage. It has been multifarious, audio-visualized, internationalized and at the time localized, and therefore has provided rich corpus for the academic study of children literature. The academic study of children literature in the early 1990s had basically devoted to the field of "youngsters stories" and "folktales," whereas the study in the later 90s had been on the teaching application as well as folktales. Ever since the beginning of the 21^(st) Century, there are more articles written, and the researches turn out to be multi-faceted and gradually extend to the study of juvenile fiction and the field of interdisciplinary integration. From the Perspective of academic study of literature, the author would suggest that the emphasis should be put more on textual analysis of literary works. However, if a methodology can be established solely for the study of children literature, the reading and analysis of texts should be emphasized, how to assist and support children education, language education as well as social workers to obtain the necessary and appropriate texts should also be observed. If the above-mentioned are accomplished, an interdisciplinary integration can thus be established and the internationalization, localization and specialization of children literature can firmly be grounded in Taiwan. The future for the study of children literature will be bright and the prospective.
