The Impacts of Cultural Capital and Campus Experience on the Development of Employability: a Case of Senior Undergraduates at Universities of Science and Technology

University students are expected to establish adequate employability before entering work place. The aim in this article is to identify the impacts of cultural capital and campus experience on students' employability. To this end, authors examine the data collected from 617 senior undergraduates, and verify the hypotheses by regression analysis. The results provide supports for most effects of general cultural capital on employability; that is, the stronger general cultural capital leads to stronger employability. The focus of cultural capital is general culture instead of exquisite culture for a better development of employability. The intervening effect of campus experience also partially supported; that is, the total effects of cultural capital could be amplified further by parts of campus experience. But, the learning resource system of campus experience provides unexpectedly a minor negative effect on learning to think.
