Development of Thin-shell Forming Molds for Fiber Metal Laminates

摘要


金屬纖維複材板利用兩種材料製造而成,克服單獨使用兩種材料的缺點。金屬纖維複材板具輕量化、高性能(耐用/強度)、可加工等特性,近年在消費性電子產品、運輸(航太/汽車/自行車)、通訊、機械設備、熱管理等產業產生許多應用。近年來因5G通訊加入行動手持裝置,輕量化以及磁遮蔽成為開發技術門檻,並且國際上循環議題也成為重要指標之一,因此利用熱塑複材具備可回收再利用,預浸材料無需冷藏,加温後成形性佳等優點,將其應用至埋有5G天線之行動手持裝置之中,本文將介紹金屬中心發展之金屬熱塑複材薄殼熱成形製程分析與模具技術研究成果。

Fiber metal laminate(FML) sheet is made by two kinds of materials, which overcomes the disadvantage of using two kinds of materials alone. FML has the characteristics of light weight, high performance (durability/ strength) and processability. In recent years, the applications in consumer electronics, transportation (aerospace/ automotive/bicycle), communications, mechanical equipment, thermal management, and other industries have greatly increased. Due to the rapid growth of 5G communications in mobile handheld devices, light weight and magnetic shielding have become a trend. Recyclability has also become the catalyst in pushing this trend forward . Thermoplastic composition has the advantages in recyclability and formability when heated. Besides, pre-preg doesn't need to keep refrigerated. It is very suitable to be used in mobile handheld devices with embedded 5G antennas. This article introduces the development of thin-shell forming for fiber metal laminate done by MIRDC.
