Panhypopituitarism & Central Diabetes Insipidus - A Case Report

摘要

An 18-year-old man complained of constant tiredness, frequent malaise, day time sleepiness, epi-gastric pain, poor appetite and consumption of great quantity of water. These conditions had persisted for several years. The hormonal replacement is important for this patient. With further examination, the pituitary stimulation test showed no response in pituitary hormones except TSH. The result of pituitary magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) showed a soft tissue lesion in the pituitary stalk with heterogeneous enhancement. Patient's family refused biopsy and operation under consideration of possible surgical complication of irreversible panhypopituitarism and central DI. However, After hormone replacement therapy, the patient's physical condition was progressively improved without surgical intervention.
