從星雲大師的飲食觀淺論佛光山的飲食文化

A Discussion on the Food Culture of Fo Guang Shan based on Venerable Master Hsing Yun's Concept of Eating

摘要


「吃飯」,在佛門是一種修行,也是度眾的方便法門之一。筆者自2001年奉佛光山調派,擔任大師之飲食侍者一職。由於隨侍大師左右,自詡猶如佛世時代,阿難乃能親事佛陀一般,將佛陀之言教如是我聞的背誦出來,是我撰寫本篇論文的動機。本文嘗試以星雲大師的飲食習慣和觀點作為基礎,從大師日常生活當中,整理出平時對弟子們的開示與勉勵,進而解讀佛光山的飲食文化之特色,以星雲大師人間佛教的實踐和推廣相呼應與印證是為初衷。文本架構將先從佛教僧團之飲食傳統與演變來作說明,接著再從佛光山的飲食文化來切入,繼而探討星雲大師的飲食蘊味,並從大師的飲食觀中來論述星雲大師的人間佛教性格。

Having served as the attendant of nutrition for Venerable Master Hsing Yun at the Founding Master's Office, the author has been able to keep records of the Venerable Master's ideals on eating. Based on his daily eating patterns and teachings, this paper attempts to discusses the changes of eating habits amongst Buddhist communities, and also the characteristics of Humanistic Buddhism as demonstrated by the Venerable Master in the discipline of food culture.
