星雲大師的青年教育思想

Venerable Master Hsing Yun's Philosophy of Youth Education

摘要


星雲大師主張以教育培養人才,他的辦學目的除了為佛教培養弘法人才,同時也為社會造就人格思想健全、身心平衡發展的時代青年。在僧伽教育上,他建立了三級層次的佛教教育制度;在社會教育上,他不僅建立了包括幼稚園在內的各級院校,更提倡將佛教對人心的淨化作用融入到兒童和青少年的成長教育之中。星雲大師的教育理念與實踐,不僅大大拓展了傳統寺院的教育功能,也給現代學校教育注入了人文因素,為應對新生代青年教育的挑戰提供了理論與實踐資源。

Venerable Master Hsing Yun strongly advocates education to foster talent. In addition to monastic talent, he also believes in youth development in terms of character and temperament to benefit modern society. In terms of monastic training, he has established a modern three-tiered education system for the Sangha. Within the community, he has established schools catering for all levels from kindergarten upwards. In the education of children and youths at his schools, he promotes the ideas of Buddhist purification. Venerable Master Hsing Yun’s philosophies and achievements have not only revolutionized monastic education but its influence has also extended to modern lay education. His theories and practical application of them have given modern youths the necessary resources to face their upcoming challenges.
