摘要

本文係報導筆者等於1988年5月至1990年10月間於苗栗縣通宵鎮附近海域進行魚類生態調查研究，包括流刺網、延繩釣、稚魚曳網及電廠撞擊等工作時所查獲之魚、種。兩年半來共計記錄到77科139屬190種。其中由流刺網與延繩釣所採獲的魚種多為中表層或中下層之個游性經濟魚類，計有41科的屬74種及24科33屬38種；稚魚曳網多為沿岸經濟性魚苗，共有16科19屬24種；而由電廠撞擊所得則以底棲性魚種為主，共有62科98屬128種。文中除表列所有魚類之學名、漁法及豐度外，並討論其組成與生態習性等。

The present paper reports the fishes collected by gill net, long-lining, haul net for juvenile fishes and the impingement at the intake of fossil power plant from the waters around Tunghsiao area during May 1988 and October 1990 while the authors were engaged in an ecological studies of fishes in this area. After two and half years, a total number of 77 families 139 genera and 190 species of fishes were recorded. Among them, 41 families, 65 genera and 74 species were from gill net and 24 families, 33 genera and 38 species were from long-lining. Most of them belong to the surface or middle water migratory pelagic species. Sixteen families, 19 genera and 24 species of juvenile fishes collected by haul net in the tidal zone were mostly economical important fish fries.A total number of 62 families, 98 genera and 128 species of fishes, mostly demersal fishes, were collected from the impingement. In addition to provide the fish checklist of various collecting methods and their abundance, the species composition and its distribution were also discussed in the paper.
