On the Hermit Crabs of the Genus Dardanus (Crustacea, Decapoda, Diogenidae) from Taiwan

摘要

Nine species hermit crabs of the genus Dardanus are collected in Taiwan. They are Dardanus lagopodes (Forskal, 1775), D. arrosor (Herbst, 1796), D. megistos (Herbst, 1804), D. guttatus (Olivier, 1811), D. crassimanus (H. Milne Edwards, 1836), D. aspersus (Berthold, 1846), D. gemmatus (H. Milne Edwards, 1848), D. pedunculatus (Herbst, 1848) and D. impressus (De Haan, 1849). For D. haani (Rathbun, 1902), D. euopsis (Dana, 1852) and D. diogenes (De Haan, 1849), they were previously reported from Taiwan under the synonymies of D. pedunculatus, D. aspersus and D. lagopodes respectively. The occurence of D. gemmantus is a new addition to the marine fauna list of Taiwan. These species can be found at littoral areas and within the by-cathes of shrimp trawlers around Taiwan. The color plates and a key are provided for their easy identification.

Milne Edwards, 1848），柄眞寄居蟹D. pedunculatus（Herbst, 1848）和印紋眞寄居蟹D. impressus（De Haan, 1849）。此九種採自臺灣沿海岩礁、珊瑚礁和魚市場之小型拖網漁獲物中。本報告附上檢索表及彩色圖片。
