Two new species of Rhinogobius (Pisces, Gobiidae) from Taiwan

摘要

Two new species of gobies of the genus Rhinogobius are described from the specimens collected from Taiwan. R. gigas sp. nov. which distributed in eastern Taiwan is characterized by its large body size , two or three rows of reddish brown curves near the pectoral base , more longitudinal scale rows (usually 37 ~38), and more pectoral fin rays (usually 21~22). R. nantaiensis sp. nov. which only dicovered from southern Taiwan is similar to R. candidianus (Regan, 1908) but can be distinguished by its rounded dark blotches on its middle line of lateral body; many orange spots on the cheek; and fewer count of longitudinal scale rows (usually 34~35), and scales between origin of first dorsal fin and pectoral fin (10~12).

本文係報告產於臺灣省之吻鰕虎（Rhinogobius）魚類之二新種，分別是大吻鰕虎Rhinogobius gigas sp. nov.及南臺吻鰕虎Rhinogobius nantaiensis sp.nov.。前者產於臺灣東部河川，本種係以成魚較大型個體，胸鰭基部具2－3條紅褐色曲紋；較高之縱列鱗數（37～38）與胸鰭鰭條數（21～22）區分。後者產於臺灣南部河川，與明潭吻鰕虎Rhinogobius candidianus（Regan，1908）較為相似；但可依體側具圓形深灰色斑塊，頰部穩定具有橙色斑，較低之縱列鱗數（34～35）及胸背鰭間鱗數（10～12）等區分本種。
