Selfed seed of the variety X 235 of Capsicum annuum L. were exposed to five doses of gamma-rays. Various morphological mutations were recorded in several M_2 and M_3 lines. These morphological mutations were characterized on the basis of the part of the plant body affected. Twenty morphological mutants were characterised both in heterozygous M_2, M_3 lines. The frequency and spectrum of morphological mutants were found to be mostly dose dependent. Further, inheritance pattern of all the mutant types were genetically analysed in M_3 homozygous/heterozygous lines and F_2 progenies. The study revealed that most of the mutants were monogenic recessive, while a few showed anomalous ratios.
