In this article, I investigate some problems of the constructive process of Sino-Christian theology, in light of the debate between philosophical hermeneutics (Gadamer) and critical theory (Habermas). Using their dialogue, I try to point out that "tradition" is an important topic, and we must find a suitable position for it in this constructive process. Then, I suggest two aspects of the construction: historical and social. In the historical aspect, we must consider that the historical reality of each being takes priority over every individual experience. In the social aspect, we must try to react the ideology from tradition and construct an ideal communicative situation. At last, we may need to combine these two aspects, though this is hard work.
