A Research on the Motivation of Taiwanese College Students' Participation in Service Learning by Using Multi-Criteria Decision Making

並列摘要

Service learning is the integration of services into life experience. Learning is a process of accumulating knowledge. This has been recognized in Taiwan and all over the world. This paper studies the key motivations for students to participate in service learning which create their meaning and value of life, and keep that promise persistently. Based on the literature review and with the interview of experts' experiences, multiple criteria describing the motivations were selected. Using DANP (DEMATEL-based Analytic Network Process, a method of Multi-Criteria Decision Making (MCDM)) to identify the most original and prominent key motivations. And the empirical results found can provide good references for the higher education institutes to carry out "student-oriented" service learning successfully.
