The Challenge of Theological Education

並列摘要

This journal article explores Tainan Theological College and Seminary's theological mission and challenges and focuses on the theme of theology and culture. More specifically, the article explores some of the challenges inherent in the Gospel in the context of theology and culture. Whether the Gospel is removed from the culture or dependent on the culture, both instances result in the distortion of its essence. Theology must therefore delve into past traditions and find out the Christian faith's understanding of the meaning of life. Christianity's answer to the meaning of life is vast and deep and able to illuminate the present generation. The challenges inherent in the Gospel also highlight the tension and vitality inherent in the Gospel and thus inherent in the Christian faith. These inherent challenges of the Gospel also highlight the great love of God and the reality of sin in the struggle of human life. This article also offers an understanding of Existential Anxiety, first mentioned in Tillich's existential theology, and proposes Christian means to overcome it. The answer lies in searching for the meaning of one's existence in the context of God's great love and one's own transformation. The answer also addresses theological education's emphasis on "ultimate concern" and the challenges theological education will face in the future.
