With the development of the times and the complicated network information environment, it has brought severe impacts and challenges to college students' ideological and political education. Combined with the background of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China(CPC), in the new era, in order to enhance the ideological and moral quality of college students, teachers should pay attention to the educational function of modern and contemporary literary works in college Chinese in the construction of socialist ideology. Based on this, this study mainly expounds the ways to realize the educational function of modern and contemporary literary works: first, relying on the educational function of modern and contemporary literary works to strengthen the value orientation; Second, enrich teaching forms and enhance the educational effectiveness of modern and contemporary literary works; The third is to optimize the communication channels of modern and contemporary literary works.
