The purpose of this study is to explore the effects of onset-rime phonics instruction in teaching English word pronunciation and spelling to three middle school students with learning disabilities (LD). Participants are three students with learning disabilities in the junior high school resource room. The multiple probe design across subjects of single subject research was used to evaluate the effects. Results show that teaching students with LD learning English vocabulary through phonics could enhance their self-esteem and achievement.
