Based on the pollution fee data of listed manufacturing companies in China from 2009 to 2017 and the data of urban residents' environmental concern measured by Baidu search index, this paper uses a two-way fixed effect model to discuss the impact of urban residents' environmental concern on the pollution emissions of local enterprises. The empirical results show that both "waste gas emissions" and "haze" as the key words of urban residents' environmental concern can significantly inhibit the pollution emissions of local enterprises.
