In this study, a minimum fluidization velocity measurement test rig was employed to examine the universality of the Ergun formula under different working conditions. And data were got under different air velocities, different bed heights, and different particle sizes. The data were plotted as pressure-velocity charts to figure out the minimum fluidization velocity under different conditions. The experimental results indicate that the minimum fluidization velocity increases with the increase of particle size of arenaceous quartz. Meanwhile, the bed height affects the minimum fluidization velocity very slightly when the particle size of arenaceous quartz is fixed.
