一個以區塊鏈為基礎之去中心化遊戲平台

摘要


自從比特幣被提出後,支撐其運作的「區塊鏈」技術便受到學術及商業領域相當大的矚目。它具有難以竄改、可追溯交易、去中心化等優點。雖然也有人對區塊鏈的實際效益抱持懷疑的態度,但各種實驗性應用陸續出現,說明了它仍有值得進一步探討研究之處。本篇論文描述了我們嘗試運用區塊鏈技術來建構一個去中心化遊戲平台的動機、構想、以及目前的成果。此一平台適用於非即時連線類型的遊戲。透過建構此一遊戲區塊鏈平台,除了能為該類型的遊戲帶來諸如降低分散式阻斷攻擊的衝擊,以及增強遊戲資料安全性等優點外,也可做為進一步研究區塊鏈相關技術與應用發展的實驗平台。

Since the emergence of bitcoin, its underlying technology, called blockchain, has attracted a lot of attention and interest in both research and industry communities. Blockchain was designed to be a decentralized architecture and resistant to malicious modification of data, featuring secure, traceable, and verifiable data. Although there are also some criticisms of blockchain's effectiveness and applicability, many pilot applications have been appearing, demonstrating the necessity of further research on blockchain technologies. This paper presents the motivation, design, and current prototype of our experimental work on developing a decentralized online game platform based on blockchain. This platform was designed for non-real time online games. The blockchain platform can bring online games several advantages such as resistance to DDoS attacks and protection of game data integrity. Moreover, it could also be used as an experimental platform for research and development work on blockchain technologies and applications.
