摘要

越南新住民小吃店裡，聚集許多來自越南的新住民，她們彼此說著共通語言，交換感受與心情，並一解思鄉之苦。小吃店外也吸引許多臺灣老饕，越南牛肉河粉、越南春捲等異國料理，讓愛好美食的臺灣人慕名而來。飲食連結越南與臺灣，而越南新住民小吃店則隱含重要的文化意義與文化認同。越南新住民來臺已近三十年，過去我們探討歧視與教育等問題，卻忽略族群邊界下文化接觸所帶來的影響。越南新住民小吃店所具有的文化意義，過去總被認為是滋生社會問題的來源。然而其中包含的家鄉味，創造族裔消費的空間，卻形成越南新住民特有的文化場域；小吃店對外開放經營的特性，也讓臺灣與越南在文化上有更多的交流與接觸機會，這是文化展演的重要場域，小吃店內外如同邊界內外，容易突顯文化特色，也易展現文化衝突，善用並跨越族群邊界推動文化發展與交流，將是我國推動新南向政策與面對全球競爭的重要能力。

So many Vietnamese new residents in Taiwan get together in Vietnamese food stands, where they can talk with their own language and share their feelings to cure homesickness. The Vietnamese new residents' food stands also attract Taiwanese gourmets to taste their exotic dishes, just like Vietnamese beef pho, spring rolls, and so on. As mentioned above, we can find diet is a linkage between Vietnam and Taiwan. Vietnamese food stands imply crucial cultural implication and identification. Vietnamese new residents have come to Taiwan for nearly thirty years. In the past, many researches on Vietnamese new residents always focused on the issues of discrimination and education. We ignored the influence of cultural contact under the ethnic boundaries. The Vietnamese food stand has its own cultural meaning but has always been considered as a source of social problems. However the hometown flavors in Vietnamese food stands form an ethnic space of consumption and a unique cultural field. On the fields, both Taiwanese and Vietnamese can realize and show their different cultures. Vietnamese Food stands are like ethnic boundaries. In the area, we can easily highlight cultural characteristics and recognize the differences. Crossing ethnic boundaries and promoting cultural exchanges are essential capacities to facilitate New Southbound Policy and face global competition.
