This article aims at discussing the possibility of space replacement concerning reuse and preservation of industrial heritage in Taiwan. In part, the becoming of industrial heritage was founded on the historical-social context of modernity and technological rationality. Therefore, industrial heritage was not a naturalized product, but concerning the production of space. In the sense, industrial heritage meant a transformation that is from production space to the production of space itself, came from growth of production itself and direct intervention of knowledge in matter production. Confronting industrial heritage--heterotopias--that was constituted by mix and coexistence of multi-cultures, the article thinks the spatiality of industrial heritage concerns how industrial heritage carried spatial modernity, and how continued meaningful image of post- modernity about historical space. It would make the space replacement of industrial heritage concerning preservation be that how to present and represent a diachronic space narrative with a synchronicity method.
