翻译与二语教学研究综述

摘要


翻译是一些二语教师常用的教学手法之一。在马来西亚,多元文化社会背景加上师生双方的多语能力,造成二语课室中的媒介语未必只限目的语。对外汉语教学也一样。在对外汉语教学中,其他语言,特别是英语和马来语,经常以语码转换或翻译的形式出现在汉语口语教学中。本文圈定翻译在二语教学,特别是对外汉语教学的使用为探讨重点,尝试为这方面的争议和研究进行梳理,划分学者们对翻译法的使用态度,探讨翻译法在二语教学或对外汉语教学的实用性。

Translation is commonly practice used by second language teachers in the class. In the multicultural setting of Malaysia where both teachers and students are multilingual, the language of the second-language class is not necessarily that of the target language itself. This is the case in the teaching of Chinese. In the teaching of Chinese as a foreign language, other languages, especially English and Malay, are often used in code-switching or translated as spoken Chinese. This article examines the use of translation in the teaching of a second language to clarify issues of contention and research concerning the methods of translation and to explore their practicality in the teaching of Chinese as a second language.
