Power supply plays a vital role in modern industrialized society. Stability of power quality, therefore, is indicative of the performance of a nation. By power quality is meant that voltage variations fall plus or minus under ten percentage, frequency variations are plus or minus under five percentage, and infrequent power outages. The data in the paper for decision making is measured applying standard instrument. The paper conducted a new method for evaluating power quality, and by employing technique for order preference by similarity to an ideal solution, a soft computing, and grey entropy, the research analyzed frequency variations based on accurate measurement data. Through integrating technique for order preference by similarity to an ideal solution and grey entropy and utilizing the frequency values at six sampling points, the paper not only obtaine the ranking of frequency variations, but also cans serve as a guide for forthcoming research.
