旧语体的新思考：张中行与文言教学

张中行（1909－2006），字仲衡，原名张璇，河北人，是中国现代著名学者、作家，1930年代毕业于北京大学中国语言文学系。其涉猎广博，著述丰硕，凡语文、文学、佛学、哲学，均有相当的治绩，并与季羡林、金克木合称“燕园三老”、“20世纪未名湖畔三雅士”。学界关注其人其事，已累绩不少成果，唯所长期致力的文言文教育，却相对为人所忽略。他做过一线的中学、大学教师，也编辑书刊及从事学术研究，长年涉足语文教育事业，有不少关切语文教学的著作，本文即聚焦其《文言常识》、《文言津逮》、《文言和白话》、《作文杂谈》、《诗词读写丛话》等作，探究他所提点的文言基本常识、对文言教学的想法及具体指引，并从中提取重要观点以为今日语文教学的借鉴。

Zhang Zhongxing (1909-2006), ＂capping name＂ was ＂Zhong-Heng＂, and his given name was Zhang Wei, was born in Hebei Province of China. He was a famous modern scholar and writer, who graduated from the Department of Chinese Language and Literature, Beijing University in 1930s. He involved extensively in many fields and had a lot of literature works with very considerable achievement in Chinese language, literature, Buddhism and philosophy. Ji Yanlin, Jin Kemu and himself were known as ＂Yanyuan San Lao＂(the three aged masters in Beijing University), or ＂Three Refined Scholars at the lakeside of an Unnamed Lake in the 20^(th) Century＂. The academic circle has paid attention to his achievement, however, his long-term commitment to classical Chinese education is relatively neglected. He has worked as a front-line secondary school and university teacher, he has also edited books and journals, and engaged in academic research. He has been involved in language education for many years and has published many books about language teaching. This article focuses on his works such as ＂Common Senses of Classical Chinese＂, ＂Writing in classics＂, ＂Classical and Modern Chinese＂, ＂Various topics about writing composition＂, and ＂Poetry Reading and Writing＂, exploring the basic common senses of the Classical Chinese language pointed out by him on his thoughts and specific guidelines for the teaching of classical Chinese, and extracting important viewpoints as the references for the teaching of Chinese today.
