The earliest and most powerful advocate of Human Buddhist and Life Buddhist in the contemporary era is Master Taixu. While In Taiwan, the earliest follower after year 1949 is Master Dong-Chu. Master Dongchu is Master Taixu's student. He is also a fellow student of Master Yin-Shun, who both belonged to Minnan Buddhist Institute. His juniors are Master Hsing-Yun and Master Sheng-Yen. Though they are all considered as human-oriented Buddhism, different eras and different social environments will naturally make human Buddhism appear in different ways. This paper is about Master Dong- Chu's accomplishments and writings in Taiwan after year 1949, which present the persistence and adaptability of human Buddhism in the era of turmoil.
