The main purpose of this paper is to evaluate the influence of discharge and water level on drainage system when crops are changed in paddy field. The characteristics of rotational paddy field as well as the compendium of diffusive tank model are explored firstly. The variations of runoff according to crops change in paddy field are then simulated by diffusive tank model when the design storm is given. The results from the calculations show that the runoff intensity will be increasing 1.17~1.28 times of the original when crops are changed in paddy field. The increased discharge due to crops change in upstream will be stored in the paddy field, if 60% of paddy field is keeping up in downstream of the experiment basin; hence, the loading of the drainage system in the downstream are reducible.
