During the reign of Empress Dowager Lu of the Western Han Dynasty, she was bullied by the leader of the Xiongnu via letters and humiliated by people who used sexually provocative words. Being very angry at first, she later was able to forcibly endure it and keep the stability of the Han Dynasty. This practice fully confirms the statement emphasized in the ＂the Rules of Official Conduct＂: As long as one has the skill of ＂forbearance＂, anything can be achieved.
