《臺灣日日新報》中新竹州社會教化之觀察（1915－1945）

摘要

日治時期臺灣總督府為順利統治制定許多政策，教育為其設想之一環，透過初等教育、高等教育、實業教育與社會教化等方式讓臺灣民眾能夠除陋習，並學習現代化，且教育也是讓臺灣人能夠進行皇民化的最佳途徑。本文史料以《臺灣日日新報》為主，討論日治時期新竹州之社會教化，著重在報導中所提及之「教化」、國語講習會、青年團、少年團、部落振興會與教化聯合會上，並以《新竹州要覽》內容所述分為兩時期探討。可以發現，《臺灣日日新報》做為當時臺灣總督府的機關報，可知道其對於殖民地的「教化」以及其所頌揚的教育會是呈現較為正面或有誇大的說詞，而報紙中記載之社會教化內容同樣也強調其重要性，社會教化是教育不可或缺之一部分。而在報紙中記載之內容，除讓自己州廳內的民眾學習外，也能夠與其他地區之社會教化事業比較。

During the Japanese occupation, Taiwan soutokufu formulated many policies. Education is part of its conceive. Through elementary education, higher education, industrial education, and social education, Taiwanese can eliminate bad habits and learn modernization. Education is also the best way for people to ＂Kominka＂. The historical materials of this article are mainly based on the ＂Taiwan Zi Zi Xin Pao ＂, discussing the social education of Hsinchu during the Japanese rule, focusing on the ＂enlightenment＂, Mandarin seminars, youth corp, syonendan, hamlet revitalization, and civilization unions mentioned in the report. It can be found, the discussion was divided into two periods based on the content of the ＂Hsinchu State Guide＂. It can be found that the ＂Taiwan Zi Zi Xin Pao＂, as the official newspaper of the Governor’s Office in Taiwan at that time, knows that the ＂enlightenment＂ of the colony and the education it extols would be more positive or exaggerated, and the newspaper records. The content of social enlightenment also emphasizes its importance, and social enlightenment is an indispensable part of education. The content recorded in the newspaper, in addition to allowing the people in the state to learn, is also compared with the social education in other regions.
