「傳播英文」課程的翻轉教室:融入生命教育意涵的自我導向學習

The Flipped Classroom of the "Communication English" Course: Self-Directed Learning with the Implications of Life Education

摘要


本文以「傳播英文」的創新教學為例,以生命教育的自學方式,讓學生在自學生命教育的過程裡學習英文,進行「佛教在台灣」教案的撰寫,並顧及學生的個別差異,啟發學生對於生命教育的思考,讓學生依據自己的興趣與資質的差異,自行探索生命教育。傳統的英文教學以背誦與口讀為主要的學習方式,讓學生在教室上課,每週規規矩矩按表操課。現代學生喜歡活潑的學習方式,教師如果想要引導學生上課時主動學習,必須改變教學方式。而現代網路社會,學生可以經由自學的方式,進行英文學習。教師則可以創新教學的方式,採用問題導向的教學法,讓學生以樂於主動學習的方式,解決學習的問題,達到教育目標,這是一種翻轉教室的教學設計。教學實務操作方面,教師以英國開放大學的網路課程為學習工具,讓同學在老師指導下,自行搜集「佛教在台灣」的教案資料,做成英文教材,並上傳教案作為遠距教學的教材。在此過程裡,教師除了教授英文外,也顧及學生的個別差異,進行個別的輔導,協助學生完成教案,達到學生對於生命教育的思考目的。生命教育是一種尊重他人與自己生命的教育,應當是大學教育的一個重點。研究結果顯示,要完成自我導向學習的輔助機制,可以搭配有翻轉教室及問題導向學習的教學設計,讓學生在既定的學習環境裡,進行相互配套的自我導向學習。

This article takes the innovative education of "Communication English" as an example and uses the self-directed learning method of life education to allow students to learn English. Students try to write the teaching plan for "Buddhism in Taiwan". The teacher considers students' differences to inspire them to think about life education in self-directed learning and let students explore life education on their own according to their interests and differences in qualifications. Recitation and oral reading are the main learning methods in traditional English teaching. Students are in the classroom, and they operate according to the table every week. Modern students like a lively way of learning. If teachers want to guide students to learn actively in class, they must change their teaching methods. In the modern network society, students can learn English through self-directed learning. Teachers use innovative educative methods and adopt problem-directed learning methods so that students can solve learning problems and achieve educational goals in a way that is willing to learn actively. It is a flipped classroom teaching design. In terms of teaching practice, teachers use the online courses of the Open University as a learning tool, allowing students to collect the teaching plan materials of "Buddhism in Taiwan" under the guidance of teachers and make English teaching materials. And upload the lesson plan as teaching material for distance teaching. In addition to teaching English, teachers also consider students' differences, provide individual counseling, assist students in completing lesson plans, and achieve students' thinking about life education. The research results show that the researcher can combine self-directed learning, the educative design of flipped classrooms, and problem-directed learning methods to lead students to carry out self-directed learning in a given learning environment.
