This study aims to explore the feasibility of a cross-disciplinary course on animal-assisted therapy for seniors with companion dogs in the context of university social responsibility. A total of 47 students from the Department of Social Work and the Department of Beauty (Pet Beauty module) participated in a 12-week interdisciplinary course and provided on-site services to the seniors in a collaborative agency. The researchers used self-formulated scales to measure students' self-efficacy, learning satisfaction, and learning effectiveness; open questions and one-to-one interviews were administered to collect qualitative data to gain an in-depth understanding of students' opinions and suggestions on this course. Results found that students' self-efficacy, learning satisfaction, and learning effectiveness were good, and learning satisfaction had a mediating effect between self-efficacy and learning effectiveness; students expressed positive attitudes towards this interdisciplinary in interviews, and students from different departments had Different perceptions and expectations. The researchers provided recommendations based on the research results as a reference for future curriculum design and research.
